Good food, terrible service. Waitress could not remember to bring things we asked for that were not brought out with our food in the first place. Did not see her in dining area. Other waitresses in dining room were just as bad when we asked them for the same items.

Always get the pizza, never venture to the pasta side of the menu and you will have a pretty good dining experience.

We had a pizza, half Hawaii, half sausage and pepperoni with extra cheese. It was very good and had a good amount of toppings. The staff was very friendly and courteous. We will return.

service was terrible, waited for over an hour for food. Our waitress was to busy socializing to give us any service.

I love Salamone's. I grew up in Fort Atkinson, and don't get back there very often, but when I do, I make a point of visiting this establishment at least once. Italian food can often be over-thought and under-delivered. When I come here and order the baked mostaccioli, special salad (with house-made ranch) and satisfying small calzone, I am never disappointed (this order is split by the table, I'm not superwoman!) Baked mostaccioli: 1. Perfectly al dente mostaccioli baked with mozzarella, provolone, and american cheese, topped with their signature marinara sauce. 2. Chunks of garlic are obvious in the sauce. 3. It is perfectly salty and savory. 4. One portion of this dish feeds me for 6 meals. 6 meals, people. We're talking 5 pounds of food (*most likely an exaggeration*) Special Salad: 1. Yummy mix of green and black olives with a small amount of tomato and a generous portion of and mozzarella and pepperoni. 2. THE RANCH. This stuff has been made in house since I can remember. I worked at Salamone's in high school (upwards of 15 years ago....) and they have always made a fresh ranch with cream and spices. It. Is. Amazing. I use it on everything I order, from the pasta to the calzone. THE CALZONE: 1. This dish cannot be ignored. All of the ingredients at Salamone's are fresh, high quality, and delicious, and this gem on their menu takes no exception. 2. The dough really makes this dish special. It is chewy on the inside and baked to a delicious crunch on the outside. The sauce, mozzarella, and toppings are always balanced and gooey. My recommendation is the small calzone with sausage, mushrooms and spinach. But honestly, I have a handful of friends that each have a personal favorite. Ulitimately: Service: Really choppy. They hire heavily from the high school, so expect a polite but inexperienced waiter/waitress. Ambiance: Good for families in the restaurant, and great for a group of friends in the bar area. Very laid-back all around. Price: Expensive for the area, but cheap compared to Madison. Salamone's is a bit of a drive outside of Madison, and Fort Atkinson offers very few entertainment options, but it is worth a visit if you enjoy truly amazing and simple Italian food.

Great food and atmosphere. Best place in town for parties and watching a big game. Very good pizza and traditional Italian entrees. Pricing is fair and provides a good value. I grew up in Racine where they have very good pizza and this place fills that niche. Would recommend.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
